Description

Delicious Air Fryer Bang Bang Salmon Bites featuring tender salmon pieces tossed in a flavorful bang bang sauce made with mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for a light dinner or appetizer, delivering crispy, spicy, and sweet bites with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 1 ½ pounds salmon, about 4 filets, skins removed, cut into 1-inch bites
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1 cup mayonnaise (232 g)
  • ½ cup Thai sweet chili sauce (132 g)
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha, or more to taste
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Chives, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 390°F and allow it to preheat while you prepare the salmon.
  2. Season the salmon: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Add the salmon bites and gently toss until all pieces are well coated with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Prepare the bang bang sauce: In a separate bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey until smooth and well combined.
  4. Coat salmon with sauce: Pour half of the bang bang sauce into a small bowl and set aside for serving. Toss the seasoned salmon bites in the remaining sauce to coat them evenly.
  5. Air fry the salmon: Working in batches to avoid overcrowding, place the salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 5 minutes, then flip the pieces carefully and air fry for an additional 5 minutes or until salmon reaches an internal temperature of 140-145°F and is cooked through.
  6. Serve: Transfer the cooked salmon bites to a plate, drizzle with the reserved bang bang sauce, and garnish generously with chopped chives. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • If you do not have an air fryer, preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake the seasoned salmon bites for 16 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F. Toss with bang bang sauce after baking.
  • Do not brush the salmon with bang bang sauce before cooking to prevent burning.
  • Adjust Sriracha quantity to your preferred spice level.
  • Make sure to cut the salmon into evenly sized 1-inch pieces for uniform cooking.
  • Use fresh chives for garnish to add a mild onion flavor and a pop of color.
