Ingredients
Scale
Cinnamon Sugar Rim
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 lime wedges
Margarita Ingredients
- ¾ cup apple cider (6 ounces)
- 3 ounces tequila
- 2 Tablespoons apple butter
- 1 Tablespoon agave syrup (optional, add for a sweeter cocktail)
- 1 ounce Cointreau
- 1-2 cups ice (for cocktail shaking and serving)
Optional Garnishes
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- apple slices
Instructions
- Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Rim: Mix the cinnamon and sugar in a shallow bowl. Rub a lime wedge along the rim of each cocktail glass to moisten it, then dip the rims into the cinnamon sugar mixture, swirling to coat evenly. Set aside for at least 2 minutes to allow the rim to harden before pouring in the cocktail.
- Make the Margaritas: Add the apple cider, tequila, apple butter, agave syrup if using, and Cointreau to a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker to the top with ice, place the lid on, and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosted. Strain the cocktail into the prepared cinnamon sugar rimmed glasses.
- Serve: Garnish with cinnamon sticks and apple slices if desired, then enjoy your festive Apple Cider Margaritas immediately.
Notes
- Serve margaritas immediately for best flavor; they do not store well as leftovers.
- Use an orange or lemon wedge instead of lime for variation in rimming the glasses.
- Adjust sweetness by adding or omitting the agave syrup based on preference.
- For a stronger apple flavor, consider using fresh apple cider rather than processed apple juice.
- Chill the cocktail glasses beforehand to keep the drinks colder longer.
