Description
A delicious and easy baked brie recipe featuring caramelized apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and crunchy pecans, perfect as an appetizer or party snack.
Ingredients
Scale
Fruit Mixture
- 1 apple
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 3 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 pinch cinnamon
Main
- 8 oz. wheel of brie
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350ºF to ensure it reaches the perfect temperature for baking the brie.
- Prepare Apples: Peel and chop the apple into ½-inch pieces for even cooking and texture.
- Caramelize Apples: Melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Sauté for about 10 minutes until the apples soften and the sugar forms a sticky caramel glaze.
- Score Brie: Score the top of the brie in a hatch pattern to allow flavors to penetrate, or optionally remove the top rind or leave it whole.
- Assemble: Place the brie in a small baking dish, pour the caramelized apples over the top, and sprinkle with chopped pecans for added crunch and flavor.
- Bake: Bake the brie in the preheated oven for 15 minutes until warm and melty.
- Serve: Serve the baked brie hot with crackers, bread, or apple slices for dipping.
Notes
- For a smoother texture, removing the top rind of the brie is recommended, but scoring works well too.
- Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp to hold shape during cooking.
- Substitute pecans with walnuts or almonds if preferred.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the gooey, melted cheese at its best.
