Description

Garlic Butter Steak Bites are tender, juicy pieces of steak seared to perfection and tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce with a hint of spice and fresh herbs. This quick and easy skillet recipe is perfect for a flavorful dinner or appetizer that can be ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak and Seasonings

  • 1/2 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 2 pounds steak, cut into small bite size pieces
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter or ghee
  • 6 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • green onion, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the Steak Bites: In a bowl, season the steak pieces with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to coat all pieces evenly.
  2. Cook the Steak: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the avocado oil to the hot pan, then add the steak bites in a single layer. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally. Cook in batches if your skillet is small to avoid overcrowding. Transfer cooked steak bites to a plate.
  3. Make the Garlic Butter: Remove any excess water from the skillet. Add the butter or ghee to the pan, then add the minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant but not burnt.
  4. Combine and Finish: Return the steak bites to the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes while stirring to coat the steak bites thoroughly with the garlic butter sauce. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
  5. Serve: Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Use a high smoke point oil like avocado oil to sear the steak evenly without burning.
  • For best flavor and tenderness, use ribeye, sirloin, or New York strip steak.
  • The red pepper flakes are optional; omit them if you prefer a milder dish.
  • Allow the steak to rest for a few minutes before cutting into bites to retain juices, or buy pre-cut steaks for convenience.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with ghee or a dairy-free butter alternative.
