Description

This Garlic Parmesan Pasta is a creamy, flavorful one-pot dish that combines tender angel hair pasta with a rich garlic-infused Parmesan sauce, perfect for a quick and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 3 Tablespoons butter, divided
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 oz. angel hair pasta
  • Fresh parsley, to garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Parmesan: Grate the Parmesan cheese finely and set it aside at room temperature to enhance melting.
  2. Melt Butter and Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Add Liquids: Pour in the chicken broth and slowly add the milk while stirring continuously. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Add Pasta: Add the angel hair pasta to the boiling liquid. You may break the noodles in half for easier fitting or use tongs to fold them as they soften.
  5. Simmer Pasta: Let the pasta simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Reduce heat to low once cooked.
  6. Add Butter and Toss: Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter to the pasta and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Add Parmesan Cheese: Gradually sprinkle in the Parmesan cheese while stirring continuously until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. The sauce will thicken as it stands.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the pasta and serve immediately, optionally alongside garlic bread with cheese.

Notes

  • Make sure the liquid is boiling before adding the pasta to achieve the ideal sauce consistency.
  • The recipe can be made with either milk or half and half; milk creates a slightly thinner sauce, while half and half thickens it more.
  • Use high-quality block Parmesan cheese, grated fresh for the best flavor and melting quality.
  • Turn off the heat before adding the cheese to prevent separation and graininess.
  • Add cheese gradually and stir continuously to maintain a smooth texture.
  • If you only have spaghetti, try substituting it in this recipe or try the Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta variation.
