Scale
For the Steaks
- 2 lbs Boneless Rib Eye Steaks (2 steaks, 1 lb each)
- 2 tsp Garlic Salt
- 2 tsp Ground Black Pepper
For the Ginger Teriyaki Sauce
- 1/4 cup Lite Soy Sauce
- 1/3 cup Water
- 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 tbsp Fresh Grated Ginger
- 3 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tbsp Corn Starch
- 3 tbsp Water
Instructions
- Season the Steaks: Pat the ribeye steaks dry and season both sides evenly with garlic salt and ground black pepper.
- Preheat and Prepare the Grill: Preheat your grill to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and spray the grilling surface with grilling spray to prevent sticking.
- Grill the Steaks: Place the steaks on the grill and cook for 5 minutes on each side for medium-rare to medium. Remove the steaks from the grill and cover them loosely with foil to keep warm while you prepare the sauce.
- Make the Ginger Teriyaki Sauce Base: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine lite soy sauce, ⅓ cup water, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and brown sugar. Stir well to combine and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Thicken the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the corn starch with 3 tablespoons of water until smooth. Pour this slurry into the boiling sauce while stirring constantly. Reduce the heat and continue stirring until the sauce thickens, about 1 minute.
- Serve: Pour the thickened ginger teriyaki sauce over the grilled steaks. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve over rice if desired.
Notes
- Use room temperature steaks before grilling to ensure even cooking.
- Adjust the grilling time depending on steak thickness and preferred doneness.
- For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of chili sauce.
- If you prefer a gluten-free option, substitute the soy sauce with tamari or a gluten-free soy sauce alternative.
- Let the steaks rest covered after grilling to retain juices before serving.
