Description

Halloween Pizza Dip is a fun and spooky appetizer perfect for parties. A creamy, cheesy chicken dip sits in the center of a skillet surrounded by cheddar-stuffed dough balls shaped like a monster’s face, combining savory flavors with creative presentation.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dip

  • 250 g boiled and shredded chicken
  • 50 g mozzarella grated
  • 70 g cheddar grated
  • 120 ml ranch sauce
  • 250 g cream cheese
  • 240 ml ketchup
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

For the Dough

  • 1 ready-made pizza dough 400 g (~1 lb)
  • 150 g cheddar cheese cut into cubes

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 200° C (392° F) to prepare for baking the dough and dip.
  2. Prepare the Dip: In a bowl, combine shredded chicken, grated mozzarella, grated cheddar, ranch sauce, cream cheese, and ketchup. Season with salt and pepper and mix thoroughly by hand (wearing disposable gloves) until well incorporated.
  3. Prepare the Dough Cutouts: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured board using a rolling pin. Use a knife to cut out shapes for the eyes, nose, and mouth of a monster.
  4. Bake Dough Cutouts: Place the cut dough pieces on a parchment-lined baking tray and bake for 12 minutes until cooked. Set them aside to cool for later assembly.
  5. Shape Dough Balls: Cut the remaining dough into 16 equal portions and roll each into a small ball. Enclose a cube of cheddar cheese inside each dough ball, sealing it well.
  6. Arrange Dough and Dip: Arrange the filled dough balls evenly around the edge of a large ovenproof skillet, leaving a clear space in the center. Spread the prepared dip mixture in the center space of the skillet.
  7. Bake Final Assembly: Bake the skillet in the oven for 35 minutes or until the dough balls are golden brown and the dip is heated through.
  8. Assemble Monster Face: Remove the skillet from the oven and use the baked dough cutouts to form the eyes, nose, and mouth on top of the dip and dough balls to create the monster design.
  9. Serve Hot: Serve immediately while the dip is warm and the dough balls are fresh and cheesy.

Notes

  • Substitute cream cheese with yogurt for a lighter and tangier dip.
  • Use disposable gloves for mixing the dip to keep hands clean and food safe.
  • If you want a spicier kick, add a dash of hot sauce into the dip mixture.
  • Ensure dough balls are sealed well around cheese to prevent leakage during baking.
  • Serve with additional vegetables or crackers for dipping if desired.
