Description

Delight in festive Halloween Oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies that combine chewy chocolate chip cookie dough with a surprise Oreo center, topped with colorful Halloween sprinkles and extra chocolate chips for a gooey, indulgent treat perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Dough

  • 1/2 cup butter, slightly softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 3 tbsp corn starch
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles

Filling

  • 9 Halloween Oreo cookies
  • Topping

    • Extra semi sweet chocolate chips for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat to prevent sticking.
  2. Cream butter and sugars: In a medium bowl, combine the slightly softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Cream together until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
  4. Combine dry ingredients: Add the flour, corn starch, baking soda, and salt to the wet ingredients. Stir just until the dough comes together; do not overmix.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and sprinkles: Gently fold the semi sweet chocolate chips and Halloween sprinkles into the dough to distribute evenly.
  6. Form cookies with Oreo center: Using a large cookie scoop (about 1/4 cup), scoop out dough and flatten it in your palm. Place one Halloween Oreo in the center, then fold the dough around it, rolling to seal completely.
  7. Arrange on baking sheet: Place each dough ball seam side down on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  8. Bake cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. The cookies may look underdone or gooey in the center, which is desired for a soft texture.
  9. Add topping and cool: Immediately upon removing from the oven, press extra chocolate chips onto the tops of the cookies. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter is slightly softened but not melted for the best creaming results.
  • Do not overbake to keep the cookie centers gooey and soft.
  • You can substitute Halloween Oreos with regular Oreos or any other themed sandwich cookies for different occasions.
  • Chilling the dough briefly before assembling can make it easier to handle.
  • Use a Silpat or parchment paper to avoid sticking and for easy cleanup.
