Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 3 cups salted popcorn
- 1/2 cup candy corn
- 1/2 cup peanut M&Ms
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
- Sprinkles, for decorating
Instructions
- Prepare the popcorn mix: Add the popcorn, candy corn, peanut M&Ms, and mini marshmallows to a large bowl and set aside.
- Melt the chocolate: Fill a medium pan with about an inch of water and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low. Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl larger than the pan, placing the bowl over the simmering water without touching it. Stir continuously with a rubber spatula until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Assemble the first layer: Drizzle half of the melted chocolate onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Spread half of the popcorn mixture evenly over the chocolate and gently press it down. Sprinkle some sprinkles on top.
- Add the second layer: Drizzle the remaining chocolate over the first layer, then top with the remaining popcorn mixture and sprinkles, pressing lightly to adhere.
- Set the popcorn bark: Refrigerate the tray for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate hardens completely.
- Serve: Break the hardened chocolate popcorn into bite-sized pieces and serve immediately. This treat is best enjoyed the same day but can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days.
Notes
- To avoid peanuts, substitute peanut M&Ms with regular M&Ms and add 1/2 cup chopped pretzels for a salty crunch.
- For more festive treats, try Rice Krispie Pumpkins or Halloween Truffles.
- Store refrigerated if chocolate begins to melt, but note popcorn freshness may decrease more quickly.
- Popcorn is best eaten within the day it’s made for optimal crispness and flavor.
