Description

These Pretzel Bones are a fun and spooky treat perfect for Halloween or any festive occasion. Made by assembling mini marshmallows and pretzel sticks dipped in creamy white candy coating, they are easy to prepare and delightfully sweet and salty.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 80 mini marshmallows
  • 40 pretzel sticks
  • 16 oz white candy melting chips or white candy melts

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
  2. Assemble pretzel bones: Push a mini marshmallow on each end of a pretzel stick to form the shape of a bone.
  3. Melt candy melts: Heat the white candy melting chips in the microwave for 45 seconds. Stir well, then repeat heating in 15-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely melted and smooth.
  4. First dip: Using a fork, dip each assembled pretzel bone into the melted white chocolate, fully coating it. Shake off excess coating gently and place the dipped bones on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Chill first coat: Place the baking sheet with dipped bones into the refrigerator for 10 minutes to allow the coating to set.
  6. Trim excess chocolate (optional): Use a sharp knife to carefully trim any excess melted chocolate that ran off during dipping for a neater appearance.
  7. Remelt chocolate if needed: If the chocolate has thickened, heat it again in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir until smooth.
  8. Second dip: Dip each pretzel bone again into the melted chocolate to achieve a thicker coating, shake off the excess, and return them to the baking sheet.
  9. Final chill: Refrigerate the pretzel bones again for 10 minutes to fully set the chocolate coating before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the candy melts are melted smoothly for an even coating; avoid overheating to prevent burning.
  • If a sharper edge is desired, trim excess chocolate carefully after the first coat sets.
  • Store the finished pretzel bones in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep them fresh and maintain the coating firmness.
  • For variation, consider using colored candy melts or adding edible eyes to make spooky pretzel creatures.
