Description

Celebrate Independence Day with these festive White Chocolate Dipped 4th of July Oreos. This easy-to-make treat features classic Oreos dipped in creamy white chocolate and decorated with red and blue candy melts and patriotic sprinkles, perfect for parties or summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Oreos

  • 20 regular Oreos or double stuffed

Chocolate Coating

  • 12 oz white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate bar or white candy melts
  • 3 tbsp red candy melts
  • 3 tbsp blue candy melts

Decoration

  • Patriotic sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Line one large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt white chocolate: Melt the white chocolate chips or white candy melts in a double boiler or microwave, stirring every 30 seconds to avoid burning.
  3. Dip Oreos: Using a regular fork or dipping fork, gently dip each Oreo in the melted white chocolate, shaking off excess chocolate, then place onto the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with all Oreos.
  4. Chill coated Oreos: Place the chocolate-covered Oreos in the refrigerator for 15 minutes or until the chocolate is fully set.
  5. Melt candy melts: Separately melt the red and blue candy melts in small bowls. Transfer each melted candy melt into a plastic ziplock bag and cut a small tip off the corner for drizzling.
  6. Decorate Oreos: Drizzle the red and blue candy melts over the set white chocolate Oreos using the plastic bags for precision.
  7. Add sprinkles and set: Sprinkle the Oreos with patriotic sprinkles and return to the refrigerator to allow the decorations to fully set before serving.

Notes

  • Store the finished Oreos in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
  • Separate layers of cookies with parchment or wax paper to prevent sticking.
  • Use double stuffed Oreos for extra indulgence or regular for a classic balance.
  • If using white candy melts, be aware that the flavor is slightly different from white chocolate chips.
